Tackling Today’s Needs. Building Tomorrow’s Solutions.
At Greater Longview United Way, we do more than fund programs. We bring people together to create real, measurable change in our community.
We identify the most urgent needs in Gregg, Harrison, and Upshur counties, then invest in local solutions that get to the root of the problem. Our work focuses on four key areas that are essential to building a thriving community:
Healthy Community
We support efforts that improve access to physical and mental health care, promote nutrition and wellness, and ensure individuals and families can live healthier lives.
Examples of our work:
- Mental health support and crisis response
- Food security programs
- Substance use prevention and recovery
Youth Opportunity
We invest in the potential of every child and young adult by making sure they have access to quality education, mentorship, and positive learning environments.
Examples of our work:
- Early childhood education and literacy
- College and career readiness
- Family engagement and support
Financial Security
We help individuals and families gain the tools they need to become financially stable, build assets, and break the cycle of poverty.
Examples of our work:
- Job training and career pathways
- Financial coaching and education
- Homelessness prevention
Community Resiliency
We work with partners to respond to crises, prepare for emergencies, and ensure that our community is equipped to face challenges together.
Examples of our work:
- Disaster recovery and emergency assistance
- Crisis hotlines and community resources
- Neighborhood-based initiatives
Powered by Partnership
Our impact is only possible because of local partners, generous donors, and dedicated volunteers. Every program we support and every person we help is part of a collective effort to build a stronger, more resilient East Texas.
When We Work United, We All Thrive
Whether it’s a family in crisis, a child who needs a safe place to learn, or a neighbor working toward a better future, we are here to help.
